The City of Stafford Department of Emergency Management (DEM) serves the citizens of Stafford by directing and coordinating emergency management and homeland security programs to prevent/mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters.

Program Vision

The City of Stafford DEM shall continue to develop and maintain a leading edge, all-hazards emergency management, and homeland security program that encompasses all organizations in the public and private sectors. This will include citizens; government agencies at the city, county, regional, state, and federal levels; school boards; businesses (small and corporate), faith-based; and volunteer agencies. The program will coordinate the comprehensive community planning, training, and exercises needed to ensure maximum efficiency and benefit from hazard prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery in order to protect lives and property in the City of Stafford. The program will be professional, and responsive, and shall strive to serve as a model municipal Emergency Management agency.

Flood Information

If you live in the City Limits of Stafford and have damage in your home due to floodwaters, please call 211 and register for text message notifications. If this storm does become an official declared disaster by the State of Texas, you will receive a text message letting you know what steps to take to make a claim.
