The City of Stafford is currently receiving applications for Council Member Position No. 5 and Council Member Position No. 6 for the May 2, 2026, General Election. The deadline to apply for these positions is Feb. 13.
To be eligible to run for city office, candidates must:
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be twenty-one (21) years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election.
- Have not been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment of a court.
- Have not been convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned
- Have resided continuously in the City for twelve (12) months immediately preceding the deadline for filing an application for a place on the ballot.
- Be a resident and qualified voter.
